Sensei Potenza began training in the martial arts in 1981 at age 11.

Over the last 29 years he has trained in the arts of: American Vadha Kempo Karate, Combat Submission Wrestling, Kickboxing, Judo, Tae kwon Do, Ninjutsu, Southern Dragon Kung Fu, Kendo, Kenjutsu, Iaido,Iaijutsu, Kali, Aikido & Catch as Catch Can Submission Wrestling.

• NI-DAN (2nd Degree BlackBelt) in
  American Vadha Kempo Karate, & certified instructor under Master John Salvaggio, (the systems founder), and Sensei's Frank Barrone, & John & Paul Campetella

• SHODAN
  in Musso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaijutsu under Sensei Carl Long, and the Jikishin Kai international

• SAN-DAN (3rd Degree)
  in Kendo under Hanshi George Alexander, and the International Budokan Kendo Federation

  in the arts of Karate, Aikido and Kickboxing under Shihan Amato, recognized by the World Sokeship Council
